Pre-Travel Jitters

I leave on Friday. In 48 hours' time I should be boarding a plane to Mumbai, but as yet I have no Visa (and obviously, no passport). I'm not worried though. Not at all. If it doesn't turn up then I'll just have to get a later flight!

Still, I have had my blood group result (had to phone the clinic to get it), so if anyone causes me stress or disquiet, I can relax, safe in the knowledge that I know my blood type: A+ [naturally - I'd be disappointed if I didn't score top marks in my blood test!]

I spoke to a colleague today who is in Mumbai already: the rain has started. Rain, thunderstorms, cloudy. Umbrella, sensible shoes and waterproofs are on the "must bring" list. I want to buy a pretty umbrella when I get there though: a "proper" umbrella, preferably in a bright colour (like the ones at the end of Monsoon Wedding). Not sure about the waterproofs though... may need to go shopping tomorrow. Along with all the other things I need to do before I travel. Like packing, cutting the grass, cleaning the stairs, setting the TV recorder, a final Pilates class and getting a good night's sleep on Thursday.

Friday morning will be a 4.30am start, and I'm due to get to India about 12.30am on Saturday. Delightful.

On the subject of sensible shoes, will I lower the tone of this blog (and, yes, I have read the bit about there possibly being a wide audience of colleagues reading this) if I mention jelly clogs?
